Kwabena Bobie Ansah apologizes to Stonebwoy over Shatta Wale comparison

Accra FM presenter Kwabena Bobie Ansah has apologised to dancehall musician Stonebwoy following public backlash over comments in which he declared his preference for Shatta Wale.

The controversy started after the presenter said on air that he would choose Shatta Wale any day over Stonebwoy. He also accused the latter of being ungrateful, alleging that he had not adequately acknowledged Asamoah Gyan for financial assistance towards his knee surgery several years ago.

Bobie Ansah reportedly made further personal remarks about Stonebwoy, including comments about the musician’s facial expression and suggesting that he harboured bitterness.

Stonebwoy subsequently reacted to the comments, questioning the presenter’s reasons for making the personal attacks. He said he had chosen to respond calmly out of respect for older people, noting that he has uncles around Bobie Ansah’s age.

His rebuttal has forced Bobie Ansah to express regret over his remarks, insisting that he had no intention of attacking or disrespecting the musician.

“Hi bruv, I send you my sincere apologies concerning comments I made with respect to my choice between you and Shatta. Respectfully, I did not intend to take a swipe at your person,” he wrote.

The presenter acknowledged Stonebwoy’s contribution to Ghana’s music industry, describing him as a legend in his own right.

He said his decision to apologise was not prompted by insults from the musician’s supporters but by Stonebwoy’s expressed displeasure with his comments.

“I’m apologizing not because of the insults from your base. Noooooooo! … However, I’m here to do the needful since you’ve shown displeasure over my comments, which I thought is a genuine observation,” he stated.

He further appealed to Stonebwoy to forgive him and assured of a mutually beneficial cordial relations between them.
