Kalonzo to Attend Linda Mwananchi Secretariat Launch as Sifuna Takes the Lead

Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka is set to attend the launch of the Linda Mwananchi Secretariat and Headquarters in Nairobi on Friday, an event that Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna will preside over, in what is shaping up to be a key political moment ahead of the 2027 General Election.

According to a media advisory dated October 29, 2026, the launch will take place at Jipe Close, off Kabarsiran Avenue, Nairobi, at 10:00 AM.

The advisory was issued by WPF spokesperson Wakili Ndegwa Njiru, who notified media editors and reporters of the party leader’s public engagements over the weekend and encouraged media houses to cover the functions.

Njiru also signalled the party’s enthusiasm for the event on his social media page. “We shall grace the Linda Mwananchi launch. Congratulations in advance,” he wrote, suggesting that Wiper will be well represented at the function.

The advisory comes from both WPF and The Ukombozi Alliance (TUA), and lists Kalonzo’s attendance at the launch as one of his public engagements.

The launch of a dedicated secretariat and headquarters is expected to give the Linda Mwananchi initiative a permanent base for coordinating its activities as political players position themselves for 2027.

Kalonzo’s presence at an event led by Sifuna is likely to draw attention, coming just days after claims that Kalonzo could be asked to step aside from his presidential ambitions in support of the senator.

His attendance will be closely watched for any signals on the relationship between the two leaders and the shape of the opposition’s plans.

Kalonzo’s weekend schedule does not end there. On Saturday, October 31, he will attend a thanksgiving ceremony hosted by Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu. The event will be held at the senator’s residence in Mua, Machakos County, starting at 10:00 AM.

Such ceremonies in the Ukambani region often double as platforms for political messaging, and Kalonzo’s presence there will also be closely watched as he continues to position himself as a key player in the opposition space.

The two-day programme comes at a time when opposition leaders are working to consolidate their structures and define their strategies for the next General Election.

With questions still lingering over who will carry the opposition’s flag, the launch of a secretariat and headquarters points to a push for organisation and visibility.

Media houses have been invited to cover both events, which are expected to attract party leaders, supporters and allies. Details of the programme, including who else will attend, were not disclosed in the advisory.
