Joey B Explains Why He Would Choose Ghana Over Living in the US Despite Better Opportunities Abroad

Ghanaian musician Joey B has sparked an interesting conversation about life in Ghana and the opportunities available abroad after sharing his thoughts on why he would rather continue living in his home country despite frequently travelling to the United States.

According to Joey B, his friends in America often ask him why he does not consider moving there permanently, especially because he visits the country regularly. However, the musician explained that there is something special about Ghana that makes it difficult for him to imagine leaving it behind.

He described Ghana as a country with a special, God-given peace that he believes is difficult to find in many other places. Although he admitted that it can be difficult to explain the feeling, he suggested that people who travel frequently may understand what he means.

Joey B also acknowledged that other countries offer opportunities that Ghana may not always provide. He pointed out that these opportunities are among the reasons some parents choose to send their children abroad for better education, career prospects and a different standard of living.

His comments have opened up a wider discussion about the balance between opportunities overseas and the comfort of living in one’s home country. While many young Ghanaians dream of travelling abroad to build successful careers, others believe that Ghana offers a sense of belonging, peace and connection that money cannot easily replace.

The musician also ended his message with a tribute to J. Frimpong, writing, “RIP J. Frimpong.”

His remarks have encouraged conversations about migration, life abroad and the things people value most when choosing where to live.

For many, the question is not simply about which country offers more opportunities, but also where they feel most at home.
