I Tell The People Of Imo That Tinubu Never Put Hope Uzodimma For You If That’s Your Anger – Okorocha
Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has urged residents of the state to distinguish between their dissatisfaction with Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration and their perception of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Okorocha made this known during an interview with Arise News on Friday, October 30, 2026, where he spoke about the political atmosphere in Imo State and the growing discontent among some residents over the current state government.
During the discussion, the former governor suggested that certain individuals were allowing their grievances against Governor Uzodimma to influence their attitude towards President Tinubu. He described this as a case of misplaced anger, arguing that the president should not be blamed for the governor’s political emergence or decisions.
According to Okorocha, the people of Imo State need to understand that their relationship with the state government should be considered separately from their opinion of the federal government.
He further explained that President Tinubu was not responsible for personally imposing Uzodimma on the people of Imo State. Consequently, he maintained that dissatisfaction with the governor should not automatically extend to the president.
Emphasising his position, Okorocha stated:
“I tell the people of Imo that President Tinubu never put Hope Uzodimma for you. If that is your anger, so people mistake transferred aggression which comes to the Governor and affecting the president.”
His comments have added another dimension to the ongoing political conversations in the South-East, particularly regarding the relationship between the federal government, state leadership and the electorate.
The development is also attracting attention as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with politicians and their supporters increasingly expressing their positions on issues of governance and political allegiance.
