“I Brought Him From Ghana Just A Year Ago and He Was My Everything”Father Break Down After Son Death
According to a Post by Ghbase on Facebook account on Friday, Oct 30, 2026, Thomas Frimpong, the father of 15-year-old Javits Frimpong, who was fatally shot while heading to school in the Bronx, New York, has broken his silence following the heartbreaking incident.
In an interview with American media, the devastated father struggled to express his emotions over the loss of his only son, whom he brought from Ghana to the United States approximately one year ago.
According to Thomas, the teenager meant everything to him, making the painful incident particularly difficult to accept.
“He was my everything. I’m here with him alone. Losing him is something I cannot easily explain,” he said.
He also remembered their final interaction on Thursday morning, October 29, 2026. Thomas explained that before his son left home, he only reminded him to ensure he arrived at school early.
Describing Javits, the grieving father said he was intelligent, reserved and hardly engaged in unnecessary conversations.
However, Thomas disclosed that he had previously received a call from the school’s principal concerning an altercation involving his son and two other students.
He alleged that the students had repeatedly bullied Javits, especially during lunchtime. The school reportedly responded by suspending the two boys for seven days.
The father added that his son had complained about the repeated harassment, even after bringing the matter to the school’s attention.
He further claimed that the principal had told him Javits was not responsible for the earlier confrontation and had acted in self-defence.
Meanwhile, police are investigating the fatal shooting and searching for three teenage suspects. Authorities have yet to establish whether the reported bullying played any role in his death.
