How Gachagua, Ichung’wah and Nyoro Coordinated to Sweep the Whole Mt Kenya Region

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has revealed how he worked with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah to coordinate political activities and consolidate support across the Mt Kenya region.

Nyoro made the remarks while addressing participants at the Training of The People’s Party Aspirants – Cohort 1 Forum 2026, held at Sports View Hotel in Kasarani.

Speaking about his political working relationship with Gachagua and Ichung’wah, Nyoro explained that they held joint strategy meetings before making public appearances. The meetings helped them agree on key messages and coordinate their engagement with voters.

He said successful political mobilisation requires careful preparation, a clear understanding of national issues and disciplined communication. According to Nyoro, leaders should do their homework before addressing the public rather than relying on spontaneous speeches or short-term political tactics.

Recalling their campaign activities, Nyoro said he and Ichung’wah worked closely to ensure their messages were consistent before engaging the public.

“During the campaigns, when I was very close to Kimani Ichung’wah, we were very level and precise. We used to have joint strategy meetings and coordination points before going out to the public,” Nyoro explained.

His remarks highlighted the importance he placed on planning and coordination in building a united political front across the Mt Kenya region.

The Kiharu MP also cautioned political aspirants against relying on superficial arguments when addressing voters. He said the electorate expects leaders to demonstrate a sound understanding of economic trends, government policies and administrative issues.

Nyoro further emphasised that political communication should be supported by facts and proper preparation. He argued that leaders who understand the issues they discuss are better placed to explain their positions and respond to public concerns.
