NewsWeekPRO Geoffrey Mosiria Hospitalised After Falling Ill During Nairobi Meeting By: Kelvin Mutua Date:
NAIROBI, Kenya â Former Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has been hospitalised after suddenly falling ill during a meeting in Nairobi on Thursday evening, October 29.
Mosiria was taken to hospital by a group that included Duke Mainga, political activist Morara Kebaso and Mirina, according to a statement shared by Mainga.
Mainga said the group accompanied Mosiria for medical attention after he became unwell during their meeting, without disclosing what caused the sudden illness.
âThis evening, together with Hon Morara Kebaso and Hon Mirina, we accompanied our brother Geoffrey Mosiria KE to the hospital after he suddenly fell ill during our meeting in Nairobi,â Mainga wrote.
He wished the former county official a speedy recovery and renewed strength as he undergoes treatment.
Mosiria later confirmed his hospitalisation in a message addressed to his supporters and Kenyans, asking them to remember him in their prayers as he recuperates.
The former county chief officer acknowledged that even people who appear strong sometimes need time to rest and recover.
âToday, I humbly ask you, my fans and everyone who has been walking this journey with me, to remember me in your prayers. Even those who always appear strong need time to rest, heal, and be lifted by God,â he said.
He added that although he might temporarily be unable to maintain his usual public engagements, his commitment to the people he serves remained unchanged.
âI believe God is in control, and with His grace, I will overcome this difficult moment,â Mosiria stated.
Neither Mosiria nor Mainga disclosed the nature of the illness, the hospital where he was admitted or how long he is expected to remain under medical care.
The incident prompted messages of goodwill, with Mainga among those publicly wishing him a quick recovery.
