Babu Owino Breaks Silence on Claims of Secret Wife and Child, Challenges Mosiria to Produce Woman

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has addressed allegations that he has another wife and a child in Embakasi, reportedly raised by Nairobi City County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria.

Speaking during an interview, Babu dismissed suggestions that the claims could affect his marriage, insisting that his wife, Frida Muthoni Ongili, was not concerned because she knew him well.

“My wife is not concerned about that because she knows me; she knows the person she got married to. I am married to Frida Muthoni Ongili. That is my wife,” Babu stated.

The legislator challenged Mosiria to publicly produce the woman allegedly being linked to him, questioning claims that he had another wife.

“Any other wife I am being given by Mosiria, I want that wife brought out in public,” Babu said.

Babu also spoke about his childhood, revealing that he was raised by a single mother after his father died when he was in Class Three.

He explained that growing up without his father exposed him to the challenges single mothers face while raising children, particularly the financial pressure of providing food, clothing and other necessities.

The MP said his personal experience had helped him understand the difficulties women encounter when bringing up children without support.

“It is quite painful. I was raised by a single mother after my father passed away when I was in Class Three. I know what single women go through in this country, looking for money to feed their children and buy them clothes,” he said.

Babu further insisted that he could never abandon any of his children, regardless of where they lived. He emphasised that parents had a responsibility to provide for their children and ensure their basic needs were met.

“I cannot leave any of my children out there. How much can a child eat in a day?” he posed.

The MP maintained that Frida was his wife while dismissing the allegations surrounding his supposed second family.
