We Will Start Rainbow Coalition, Hope Can’t Carry Imo; It’s in the Villa That Hope Exists – Okorocha

Former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has said he will begin a Rainbow Coalition in Imo State to bring opposition parties together to support President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Okorocha made this statement during an interview on Channels TV, where he discussed his disagreement with Governor Hope Uzodinma and his plans to build support for Tinubu in the state.

He said the coalition would involve members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political groups. He added that some politicians might step down from their positions to achieve the common goal of ensuring Tinubu’s victory.

Okorocha also criticised Uzodinma, saying the governor lacked strong support among the people of Imo State and the Southeast. He argued that Uzodinma’s popularity existed mainly within the Presidential Villa rather than among ordinary people.

The former governor further explained that his disagreement with Uzodinma followed comments allegedly made by the governor during a meeting with the Vice President.

According to Okorocha, his political support comes from the love people have for him, insisting that he could attract thousands of followers in Imo State without having to visit the state.

In his words, “We’re going to start Rainbow Coalition, bring PDP, all of them to support Tinubu to win. And some people, I’m sure, will step down from their position just to make sure that we achieve one common goal. Hope can not carry Imo; cannot carry Southeast; it’s in the Villa here that Hope exists.”
