Today’s Headlines: Tinubu Will Defeat Atiku in Five States — Dalori; Ayodele Warns Tinubu on Health

Ali Bukar Dalori, a public affairs analyst and Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has explained why President Bola Tinubu will defeat Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in his home state of Adamawa and four other states in the North-East during the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking at an event in Abuja on Wednesday, Dalori said Tinubu’s grassroots support base would secure victory for him in Borno, Yobe, Gombe and other states in the North-East geopolitical zone during the 2027 presidential election.

He said his position was informed by his experience as a grassroots politician and his understanding of the political dynamics in the North-East.

Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a warning to President Bola Tinubu urging him to prioritize his health over political ambitions for a second term. In a statement released through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele stated that the president’s health is deteriorating and requires immediate attention to avoid serious consequences. He emphasized the need for both medical intervention and divine prayers to address an impending health crisis.

According to Ayodele, Tinubu is in a “red zone” health-wise, even if he is not fully aware of the danger or has not been properly informed. The cleric stressed that the president’s well-being is vital not only for his family but also for the nation, and that politics should not come at the expense of health. He further predicted that even if Tinubu secures a second term, he may be unable to complete it due to these health challenges.

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has criticised the Federal Government’s planned ₦70,000 monthly transport allowance for public service workers, describing it as inadequate to cushion the impact of rising living costs on Nigerian households.

Atiku, the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate in the 2027 election, said the allowance, scheduled to run for six months from November 2026, would do little to address the broader economic difficulties facing workers, businesses and families.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku argued that the intervention failed to address rising costs of food, electricity, rent and other essential goods and services.

A Lagos court has remanded Nollywood actress Doris Ogala at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre over her ongoing legal dispute with Chris Okafor, the founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry

Comedian Aderombi “DeeOne” Martins disclosed this in an Instagram video on Wednesday, saying the court remanded the actress after she appeared in response to a bench warrant.

Ms Ogala is the African Action Congress (AAC) gubernatorial candidate for Abia State in the forthcoming election.

PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported that the dispute between Ms Ogala and Mr Okafor began in December 2025, when the actress accused the cleric of ruining her life after a video of his engagement to another woman circulated online.
