Raymond Archer Confirmed as EOCO Boss
Renowned investigative journalist and security expert Raymond Archer has reportedly been confirmed as the substantive Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), with his appointment taking effect on October 27, 2026.
Reports indicate that EOCO Board Chairman Daniel Domelevo confirmed Archerâs appointment, noting that he formally assumed the substantive position on the stated date.
Archer was appointed Acting Executive Director of EOCO by President John Dramani Mahama in August 2025.
His elevation to the substantive role follows the reassignment of his predecessor, Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah, to the National Security Secretariat, where he serves as a Technical Adviser.
His confirmation comes at a critical period for EOCO, which is responsible for investigating and prosecuting economic and organised crime in Ghana.
The agency plays a significant role in efforts to tackle financial misconduct and other criminal activities that threaten the countryâs economic stability.
Archer brings extensive experience in investigative journalism and security-related matters, with a professional background that includes uncovering alleged financial irregularities.
