Petrol and LPG Prices Set to Drop from November 1 as Diesel Prices Rise in Ghana — COMAC Reveals

According to a report by TV3 Ghana on Thursday, October 29, 2026, the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) has projected a reduction in petrol and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices during the next fuel pricing window, which begins on November 1, 2026. However, diesel prices are expected to record a slight increase.

According to the projection, petrol prices could fall by up to 3.51 per cent, while LPG prices are expected to decrease by a maximum of 0.8 per cent. Diesel prices, on the other hand, could rise by as much as 1.5 per cent during the same period.

The expected changes could bring some relief to motorists and households that depend on petrol and LPG for their daily activities. A reduction in petrol prices could help drivers manage their transportation costs, while lower LPG prices could benefit households that use gas for cooking.

However, the projected increase in diesel prices could create additional costs for commercial drivers, transport operators and businesses that rely on diesel-powered vehicles and machinery. Since diesel is widely used in commercial transportation and other economic activities, any increase in its price could affect operating expenses.

The expected changes also come at a time when fuel prices remain an important concern for many Ghanaians. Changes in petroleum prices can influence transportation fares, the cost of distributing goods and the prices of some essential commodities.

Although the COMAC projections indicate possible relief for consumers of petrol and LPG, the actual prices at fuel stations will depend on the final pricing decisions made by oil marketing companies during the November 1 window.

Consumers are therefore expected to pay attention to announcements from fuel retailers as the new pricing period approaches.

If the projections materialise, petrol and LPG users could benefit from lower prices, while diesel users may have to prepare for a modest increase in their fuel expenses.
