Malema Targets Zuma Again, Vows to Continue Political Battle Until Jail

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has renewed his attacks on former South African president Jacob Zuma, insisting that he expects the former head of state to eventually end up behind bars. Malema also vowed that the EFF would continue confronting Zuma over what he described as the damage caused to the generational mission.

Malema made it clear that he had no intention of abandoning his political battle against Zuma. He accused the former president of undermining a broader political cause and maintained that he should be held accountable for his alleged actions.

“And we can tell you now, Zuma will go to jail. We want to see him suffer until the end for what he did to the generational mission,” Malema said.

His remarks have once again highlighted the growing political tensions between the two prominent figures, whose relationship has become increasingly strained despite their previous positions within South Africa’s political landscape.

The EFF leader also suggested that Zuma had underestimated the people he was challenging, expressing confidence that his party was prepared to continue the political confrontation.

“We told him that he’s fighting with the wrong people, firstly we have a [unclear in the supplied quotation] on our side and he doesn’t,” Malema said.

Malema further intensified his remarks by mentioning Kgoshi Mampuru Correctional Centre in Pretoria, suggesting that Zuma could one day be taken there.

“We are going to fetch him from the village to Kgoshi Mampuru prison in Pretoria, and we don’t say things we don’t do,” he declared.

Reiterating his position, Malema said the EFF would continue opposing Zuma until the former president was imprisoned.

“We told him we gonna fight him until he rots in jail,” the EFF leader added.

Zuma served as South Africa’s president from 2009 to 2018 and remains active in politics as the leader of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party). Malema heads the EFF, a party that champions economic transformation, land redistribution and increased state involvement in strategic industries.

Malema’s latest comments underline the continuing political rivalry between the two leaders, with the EFF leader making it clear that his opposition to Zuma is far from over.
