Mahama’s honorary doctorate not comparable to Akufo-Addo’s awards – Nana Yaa Jantuah

Presidential staffer Nana Yaa Jantuah has praised President John Dramani Mahama following his conferment with an honorary doctorate by Russia’s RUDN University, describing him as Ghana’s best president.

She said the honour reflected the international recognition President Mahama had earned through his leadership and work, adding that his reputation had spread beyond Ghana.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Nana Yaa Jantuah likened the President’s reputation to a pleasant perfume that travels far and wide.

“President Mahama’s name is like a good perfume, spreading his reputation around the world. That is why Russia has awarded him an honorary doctorate. He is Ghana’s best president,” she said.

She argued that the recognition was a reflection of the President’s achievements and the positive impression he had made internationally.

According to her, the honorary doctorate demonstrates that the international community has taken note of Mr Mahama’s leadership and the work he is doing for Ghana.

Nana Yaa Jantuah also took a swipe at former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, questioning the value of honorary degrees he received while in office.

“You cannot compare his doctorate to the ones Nana Akufo-Addo paid to receive while he was in power,” she said.

She maintained that President Mahama’s recognition was deserved, describing him as knowledgeable, excellent and a leader whose achievements had brought him international acclaim.

President Mahama was conferred with an honorary doctorate degree by RUDN University, also known as Patrice Lumumba University, in Moscow, Russia.
