Heartbroken Supporter Drops a Bombshell and Flees Duduzane’s Party for ActionSA
Duduzane Zuma’s recent remarks about illegal immigration have reportedly prompted political reflection among some uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) supporters, with Mabongi Mthembu announcing her decision to leave the party and join ActionSA.
Mthembu made the announcement on her Facebook page on Sunday, explaining that Zuma’s comments had caused her to reconsider her political affiliation and the direction she believes South Africa should take.
In her statement, Mthembu said she wanted to support a political party that takes the concerns of ordinary South Africans seriously, particularly regarding illegal immigration, employment opportunities, crime and the country’s future.
According to her, these issues have become important considerations in determining where she places her political loyalty and how she intends to cast her vote.
Mthembu acknowledged that leaving the MK Party was not an easy decision. Addressing MKP supporters, she expressed her regret over the move but maintained that she had carefully considered her options before making the announcement.
She subsequently identified ActionSA as the political party that better reflects her current values and expectations for South Africa.
Mthembu said her decision was guided by her desire to see political leaders respond to the concerns raised by communities across the country.
Her announcement also highlighted the importance she places on choosing a party whose positions align with her personal beliefs and vision for the nation.
Although her statement does not establish a broader exodus from the MK Party, it illustrates how disagreements over immigration policy and political messaging can influence individual decisions about party membership.
Illegal immigration continues to feature prominently in South Africa’s political discussions, particularly as parties debate border management, employment, crime and access to public services.
ActionSA has made immigration control a significant part of its political platform, while other parties have their own approaches to managing migration and addressing the concerns of South African citizens.
Political statements on immigration can therefore influence how voters assess parties and their leadership, especially ahead of important electoral contests.
However, individual political decisions should not automatically be interpreted as evidence of a wider movement without additional information confirming similar developments.
Mthembu made her position clear by declaring that her loyalty lies with South Africa and its people. She wants her political choice to reflect the issues she believes ordinary citizens are raising.
Her move to ActionSA marks a change in her political allegiance, with immigration and the country’s future featuring prominently in her explanation.
Whether other MKP supporters will make similar decisions remains to be seen. For now, Mthembu’s announcement adds another personal perspective to South Africa’s continuing debate over immigration, political accountability and the direction of the country’s leadership.
