Court Remands Actress Doris Ogala Over Alleged Cyberstalking of Pastor

According to reports by Punch on Thursday, October 29, 2026, the Federal High Court in Lagos has remanded Nollywood actress and African Action Congress governorship candidate for Abia State, Doris Ogala, at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending the hearing of her bail application.

Justice Akintayo Aluko ordered the remand on Wednesday after Ogala pleaded not guilty to charges of cyberstalking, cyberbullying and attempted extortion involving Pastor Chris Okafor. The prosecution alleged that she published nude and intimate photographs of the cleric on social media without his consent between September 2024 and March 2026, knowing the images could cause embarrassment, emotional distress and reputational damage.

Prosecutor Tolulope Mokolu told the court that Ogala also allegedly disseminated false electronic messages and threatened to publish further damaging material. The defence sought her immediate release, but the judge held that sufficient grounds had not been provided.

Justice Aluko ordered an accelerated hearing of the bail application and adjourned the matter until October 30, 2026. Ogala, who is also a known actress, remains in custody pending the next court date.
