Azam Coach Florent Ibenge Expects Different Challenge Against Durban City

Azam FC head coach Florent Ibenge is preparing his team for a challenging campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup, with the Tanzanian side determined to secure a place in the knockout stages of the competition.

Following the group-stage draw, Ibenge acknowledged that his team faces a difficult task against several competitive opponents. However, the experienced coach remains focused on ensuring that Azam are ready to compete and deliver positive results throughout the continental campaign.

One of the challenges awaiting the Tanzanian outfit is their contest against South African side Durban City, a fixture that promises to test Azam’s tactical discipline and ability to adapt to different styles of football.

Ibenge understands that matches against teams from different footballing backgrounds often require careful preparation. He will therefore be looking for his players to remain organised, show determination and make the most of their opportunities in front of goal.

The Azam coach is also aware that success in continental competitions requires consistency, particularly when facing opponents with different approaches to the game. His team will need to demonstrate flexibility and maintain concentration if they hope to progress beyond the group stage.

For Durban City, the encounter presents an opportunity to measure themselves against international opposition and demonstrate their competitiveness on the continental stage.

Meanwhile, Azam will be eager to make their experience count as they pursue their ambition of reaching the knockout rounds. Every point could prove valuable in a difficult group where small mistakes may have significant consequences.

Ibenge’s task will be to find the right balance between attacking ambition and defensive stability while ensuring his players understand the demands of the competition.

Although the challenge ahead is considerable, Azam will approach the campaign with determination and belief. Their performance against Durban City could provide an important indication of their readiness to compete for qualification.

With the knockout stage firmly in their sights, Azam must now turn their preparations into results on the pitch.
