Senator Nyamu Claims that Gachagua May Not Maintain Alliance With Sifuna and Kalonzo For Long
Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has expressed doubt over the relationship that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, claiming that it may not last long.
In a video snippet shared across her official social media platforms on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, Nyamu asserted that Gachagua struggles with teamwork and lacks the capacity to maintain political allies over an extended period.
Nyamu drew a comparison with President William Ruto, whom she praised for his ability to maintain political alliances over a long period.
The Senator claimed that Gachagua lacks this capability, adding that Sifuna and Kalonzo definitely do not know the former Deputy President well enough yet.
“Gachagua teamwork ilimlemea, he couldn’t last past 2 years in a coveted office. Sifuna and Kalonzo think they can hack? Wacha tuone,” Nyamu said.
The remarks come a week after Gachagua hosted Sifuna and a few members of the Linda Mwananchi Movement at his home in Wamunyoro, Nyeri County.
They reportedly discussed how the opposition should strategize and line up in the upcoming general election.
Days later, Gachagua again welcomed Kalonzo and his Wiper brigade at the same venue.
Both Kalonzo and Sifuna are eyeing the presidential seat and need the opposition ticket to face off against President William Ruto at the ballot.
Gachagua is also positioning himself for the race in case the Court of Appeal declares that he is eligible to vie.
If Gachagua is barred from contesting, he could play a kingmaker role by throwing his weight behind another candidate.
