Moment Abia AAC guber candidate Doris Ogala clashed with judge in court [VIDEO]

According to a report by Daily Post on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, Nollywood actress and African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for Abia State in the 2027 election, Doris Ogala, has been captured in a heated exchange with a judge at the Federal High Court in Lagos shortly before she was reportedly remanded in custody.

In a video circulating on social media, Ogala was seen gesturing while addressing the court, alleging that her boyfriend, Pastor Chris Okafor, was attempting to use the law against her.

“A court is a place that allows the common man to speak. My boyfriend wants to weaponise the law against me,” she said in the video.

The exchange reportedly occurred shortly before the court ordered her remand over allegations of cyberbullying involving Okafor. Reports indicated that she was taken into custody at Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending further proceedings in the case.

Details of the courtroom exchange, including the specific circumstances that led to the confrontation, were not fully established in the circulating video.

The development has attracted attention because of Ogala’s public profile as an actress and her political ambition to contest the Abia State governorship election in 2027 under the AAC platform.

The African Action Congress has condemned the reported court order remanding its governorship candidate, describing the development as a threat to democratic participation and the fundamental rights of Nigerians.

In a statement published on its official X account on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, the party expressed concern over the decision attributed to Justice A. Aluko of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The statement was signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Rex I. Elanu.

“The African Action Congress (AAC) vehemently condemns the reported court order by Justice A. Aluko of the Federal High Court, Lagos, directing the remand of our Abia State gubernatorial candidate, Doris Ogala, over allegations of cyberbullying one Pastor Chris Okafor,” the party stated.

The party also criticised the Cybercrime Act, arguing that the legislation could be used by influential individuals and law enforcement authorities to suppress dissent and restrict freedom of expression.

According to the AAC, the case raises broader concerns about the balance between addressing alleged online offences and protecting citizens’ constitutional rights.

However, the party’s objections represent its position on the matter, while the allegations against Ogala remain subject to the judicial process.

The AAC further expressed concern over speculation that Ogala’s legal troubles could be connected to her political activities and opposition to Abia State Governor Alex Otti.

The party called for any credible allegations of political interference to be properly investigated, while cautioning against the use of state institutions to intimidate political opponents.

It also urged the Nigerian Police to demonstrate impartiality and act in the public interest rather than serve the interests of powerful individuals or political groups.

The party called on Justice Aluko and other judicial officers to uphold the principles of fairness, independence and integrity in handling the case.

“The AAC Party will resist every attempt to weaponise state institutions against our candidates and our movement through all lawful and democratic means,” the statement added.

The party outlined several demands, including respect for Ogala’s fundamental rights, adherence to due process and an impartial investigation into any credible claims of political interference.

It also called for the repeal of the Cybercrime Act, arguing that the law requires reform to prevent potential abuse and protect freedom of expression.
