Meet Kuria Kimani: Molo MP Says He Could Join Gachagua’s DCP Party if It Wins the 2027 Election

Molo Member of Parliament Kuria Kimani has said he would be willing to join former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) if the party wins the 2027 General Election.

The remarks have drawn attention to the political calculations taking shape ahead of the next election, as leaders continue to position themselves and their parties for the contest.

According to the statement, Kuria Kimani’s willingness to join DCP is conditional on the party winning the 2027 polls. His remarks do not, however, amount to an immediate declaration that he is leaving his current political affiliation.

Gachagua, who served as Deputy President before his removal from office in October 2024, has since pursued his political interests through DCP, a party associated with his efforts to build a political base ahead of the next general election.

The party’s prospects in 2027 will depend on several factors, including its national reach, its appeal to voters across different regions, its candidates and its ability to build alliances with other political formations.

For Kuria Kimani, the reported position raises questions about the political arrangements that could emerge after the election, particularly if DCP secures a significant role in the next government.

The Molo legislator’s statement also adds to the ongoing discussion about party loyalty, political alliances and the possibility of leaders reassessing their affiliations depending on the outcome of the polls.

However, the full context of his remarks, including whether he was speaking seriously or hypothetically, remains important in interpreting his position.

With the 2027 General Election approaching, statements by political leaders about possible party affiliations are likely to attract continued attention as Kenyans follow developments surrounding the country’s evolving political landscape.https://www.facebook.com/100064776546036/posts/1603927231776480/?app=fbl
