Joseph Molangoane Backs Fernando Da Cruz While Welcoming Manqoba Mngqithi to Chiefs

Joseph Molangoane Backs Fernando Da Cruz While Praising Manqoba Mngqithi

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Joseph Molangoane has shared his views on the possibility of Manqoba Mngqithi joining Amakhosi, describing the experienced coach as a valuable addition while expressing confidence in current head coach Fernando Da Cruz.

The discussion comes at a challenging time for Chiefs, who are under pressure to improve their performances and restore their status as serious contenders for major trophies. With supporters demanding better results, speculation about the club’s technical leadership continues to attract attention.

Mngqithi has established himself as one of the experienced figures in South African football, having worked with several clubs in the Premier Soccer League. His tactical knowledge, experience in managing players and understanding of domestic competition could make him an attractive option for Chiefs should an opportunity arise.

Molangoane believes the experienced tactician could bring valuable qualities to Naturena. However, his comments do not necessarily suggest that Da Cruz should be replaced, as the former winger has also backed the French coach to prove himself and deliver positive results.

Da Cruz arrived at Chiefs with the responsibility of building a competitive team capable of challenging for honours. Nevertheless, the pressure remains intense, particularly following the club’s disappointing elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup, which has raised further questions about the team’s progress.

Chiefs have endured several seasons without winning a major trophy, leaving supporters increasingly desperate for a turnaround. Consistency, tactical improvements and better performances in crucial matches will be essential if Amakhosi are to meet their ambitions.

Despite the speculation surrounding Mngqithi, there has been no official confirmation that Chiefs are considering appointing him.

For now, Da Cruz remains responsible for leading the team forward. Molangoane’s position reflects a balanced perspective: Mngqithi could strengthen the technical department, but the current coach deserves an opportunity to demonstrate his ability to deliver the success Chiefs supporters expect.
