Ghana U-15 Boys face Korea in Round of 32 after perfect group run

Ghana’s National U-15 Boys team will take on the Republic in the Round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan as they seek to extend their impressive run in the competition.

The knockout fixture is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, with kick-off set for 10:30 a.m.

Ghana head into the encounter in a confident mood after recording five victories from five matches to finish top of Group W with a perfect record.

The young side opened their campaign with a 4-1 win over Uzbekistan before thrashing Myanmar 7-1 and Guam 7-0.

They continued their dominant display with another 7-0 victory over the Bahamas before edging Kazakhstan 2-1 in their final group match.

The results saw Ghana score 27 goals and concede just three, underlining their attacking strength and defensive discipline heading into the knockout stage.

Several players, including Abdul Aziz Issah, Jerry Owusu, Angel Junior Adjei, Shamsudeen Sulemana and Emmanuel Afful, have contributed to the team’s strong attacking performances.

However, the Republic is expected to provide a stern test as Ghana’s youngsters look to maintain their momentum against a technically disciplined opponent.

The tournament, being held in Baku, is part of FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme, which aims to provide young footballers from across the world with international competition and development opportunities.

The inaugural event features teams from 189 FIFA member associations and uses an eight-a-side format, with matches played over two 20-minute halves.
