The agreements outline timelines for the payment of outstanding entitlements, the verification of allowances and further discussions on workers’ welfare.

The eight agreements reached by both parties are as follows:

The federal government agreed to provide a monthly transport intervention of N70,000 for six months, beginning in November 2026.

Outstanding peculiar allowance arrears are to be paid in three equal monthly instalments, starting in November 2026.

The government agreed to settle 19 months of outstanding allowances owed to health workers within three months, beginning in December 2026.

A negotiating committee is to be constituted and commence work immediately. However, the effective date for implementing the minimum wage remains a point of disagreement between the parties.

The verification process for hazard allowances owed to agricultural officers is expected to be completed within two weeks.

The cost implications of the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) are to be updated within three weeks.

The issue of tax relief was referred to the NLC National Executive Council (NEC) for further consideration.

The federal government and organised labour agreed to reconvene in one month to review progress on the implementation of the agreements.

The next meeting is expected to provide an opportunity for both parties to assess compliance with the agreed timelines and address any outstanding issues.
