ACAMB warns bank customers as fraudsters deploy fake alerts, cloned websites

The Association of Corporate Communication and Marketing Professionals in Banks (ACAMB) has urged Nigerians to be vigilant against phishing scams and other forms of cyber fraud, warning that criminals are increasingly impersonating financial institutions to steal customers’ sensitive information.The warning follows a fraudulent text message impersonating banks, which FactCheckAfrica debunked after discovering that its embedded link directed users to a cloned internet banking website designed to harvest login credentials, Bank Verification Numbers (BVNs), card details and transaction PINs.
