Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure overwhelming support in the state in the 2027 presidential election, declaring that no opposition candidate will get even 25 per cent of the votes.

Mr Sani attributed his optimism to what he described as the Tinubu administration’s unprecedented interventions in Kaduna, particularly in infrastructure, education, agriculture, security and human capital development.

The governor spoke during an interview with TVC on Sunday, a day after the All Progressives Congress (APC) formally launched Mr Tinubu’s re-election campaign at Ranchers Bees Stadium in Kaduna.

“In Kaduna, we are not talking about 70 per cent. Allowing any candidate to even get 25 per cent in Kaduna is a failure on our side because President Tinubu has done for Kaduna something we never dreamt of having,” Mr Sani said.

Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has knocked the Federal Government over the level of hardship in Nigeria.

In a video statement circulating on Sunday, Ayodele said everything is not going well under the current government and that Nigerians are in serious pain.

“Everything is not going well in Nigeria under this government. Nigerians are in serious pain,” he said.

He lamented rising school fees, high market prices, persistent insecurity and hardship.

Former Premier League footballer Jermaine Pennant has revealed that he needed more than 50 stitches after a German Shepherd mauled his leg in north London, with his own dog intervening to help fight off the attacker.

According to the BBC, the 43-year-old former Liverpool and Stoke City winger was walking his two dogs last week when the German Shepherd latched on to his right leg and refused to let go as he tried to protect his dog, King.

Pennant said King eventually intervened and fought off the attacking dog, preventing what he described as a potentially horrific situation.

“I tried to protect King but the dog got my leg, I was on the floor with the dog still attached with no sign of letting go, until King intervened as he didn’t know what was going on,” Pennant said.

Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY Comedian, has apologised to fans following the disruption of his Cardiff comedy show in the United Kingdom, blaming unresolved payment commitments for the failure to deliver the advertised performances.

The show, part of his “AY Live: Single and Not Searching” UK tour, was scheduled for Sunday, October 25, at Valegate Retail Park in Cardiff, Wales.

In a statement shared on Instagram on Monday, AY said he and other comedians travelled to the venue and gained entry but could not perform before most of the audience left.

EBOLA: WHO SAYS NIGERIA NOT YET VIRUS-FREE, MONITORS 52 CONTACTS Nigeria currently has no confirmed case of Ebola following the medical evacuation of the index patient to Switzerland, but the World Health Organisation, WHO, says the country has not yet been declared Ebola-free. The WHO Nigeria office disclosed this on Monday in a post on its official X handle, stating that health officials were monitoring 52 people who might have been exposed to the virus. The organisation explained that, under the International Health Regulations, a country can only be declared Ebola-free after a 42-day countdown following the last confirmed case testing negative twice for the virus or, in the present situation, the evacuation of the confirmed patient. It added that the countdown would be followed by a period of heightened surveillance. The clarification came hours after reports circulated that Nigeria had been declared Ebola-free. Orange FM earlier reported that the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, confirmed on Monday that the patient and her spouse had been evacuated to Switzerland by air ambulance. Pate said the patient’s condition had improved and she was stable, conscious and communicating before the evacuation. He, however, cautioned that clinical improvement did not necessarily mean she was no longer infectious. The WHO Regional Director for Africa, Dr Mohamed Janabi, commended the Nigerian medical team for managing the patient through the acute phase of the illness and stabilising her condition before the evacuation. Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention had earlier announced that 53 contacts linked to the case had been identified and followed up. They included health workers, domestic staff and the patient’s husband. The WHO says monitoring and surveillance remain critical as Nigeria continues its response to the Ebola case.
