Ruto announces planned groundbreaking of cement and clinker factory in Kwale

President William Ruto has announced plans to break ground for a new Bamburi Cement clinker manufacturing plant in Matuga, Kwale County, as the government intensifies efforts to boost local production of construction materials and reduce reliance on imports.The proposed facility will have the capacity to produce 5,000 tonnes of clinker daily, further strengthening Kenya’s cement manufacturing industry and creating opportunities for employment and local businesses.
