Obuasi SHTS Headmaster Must Face The Law, But He Also Needs Mental Check – Presidential Staffer

A Presidential Staffer, Rosemond Obeng, has waded into the case involving the headmaster of Obuasi SHTS.

According to her, the headmaster must face the full rigor of the law for his actions, without any cover-up.

However, she believes there is more to the story than just punishment.

Rosemond said the severity and nature of the headmaster’s alleged actions suggest that he may have serious underlying psychological problems.

She explained that a normal person in such a high position would not behave the way he is accused of behaving, and that points to a possible mental health issue.

“The Obuasi SHTS headmaster must face the full rigor of the law, but the severity of his actions suggests significant underlying psychological issues. A mental evaluation should be part of the court’s ruling,” she stated.

According to her, while justice must be served to protect students and set a good example, the court should also order a proper mental evaluation for the headmaster as part of its ruling.

She argued that understanding his mental state will help the court give a fair judgment and also prevent similar incidents in other schools.

Rosemond Obeng added that the case should be a wake-up call for the Ghana Education Service to take mental health checks for school leaders seriously.

Her comment has sparked conversation online, with many agreeing that although punishment is necessary, mental health should not be ignored in such serious cases.
