Not At All – See How Ghanaians Reacted To A Question On The Resignation Of Okudzeto Ablakwa

Joy News is asking Ghanaians whether they agree with the Minority in Parliament’s demand for the resignation or dismissal of Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, responds to this question cites that Ghanaians still believes in his leadership.

The question comes after the Minority, led by Ranking Member on the Foreign Affairs Committee Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, demanded that Mr. Ablakwa resign immediately over alleged irregularities in the evacuation of 1,964 Ghanaians from South Africa.

At a press conference on Tuesday, October 27, Mr. Jinapor alleged that some evacuees received GH¢2,000 instead of the GH¢5,500 package announced by government made up of GH¢5,000 reintegration support and GH¢500 transport allowance.

He cited claims of duplicate entries, payments without signatures and missing receipts in the GH¢49.72 million expenditure for the exercise. He invoked President Mahama’s 2025 Code of Conduct and Article 81(a) of the Constitution, urging the President to sack Mr. Ablakwa if he refuses to resign.

But Mr. Ablakwa has strongly denied the allegations. He maintains that all 1,964 evacuees, including minors, received the full amount, and insists no evacuee lodged a complaint at Kotoka International Airport or in the four months after the operation.

Joy News is now putting the debate to the public: With the Minister denying any wrongdoing and the Minority citing accounts from three evacuees and demanding an independent audit, do you agree that Mr. Ablakwa should resign or be dismissed?

Should accountability mean stepping aside for a probe, or should the Minister be allowed to stay while investigations continue?
