“Ndio Hawa” 5 Suspects Of Mbobu’s Murder Case Apper In Court, Breaks Silence About The Allegations

Five suspects charged with the murder of Nairobi lawyer Matthew Kyalo Mbobu have denied the allegations as they appeared before the High Court in Kibera on Monday, October 27, 2026.

The suspects are Rose Mbithe Mulwa, her two children, Chris Mulwa and Angela Mulwa, and police officers Julius Kipkoech Cheruiyot and Kennedy Kipkemoi Borboroi.

They appeared before Justice Diana Kavedza, where they pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Mbobu was shot dead on September 9, 2025, at approximately 5:30 pm along Magadi Road near Brookhouse School in Karen, Nairobi, while driving home.

The prosecution alleges that the killing could be connected to a land dispute involving Rose Mbithe, the former wife of Professor David Ndetei.

The court heard that Mbobu had represented Ndetei in a land case in Mlolongo, which he won against Mbithe.

Before taking their pleas, the two police officers underwent mental assessments at Mbagathi Hospital.

Justice Kavedza ordered the suspects detained at different correctional facilities as the case proceeds. The prosecution also indicated that it would oppose their release on bail.

The case is expected to continue in court as investigators and prosecutors pursue the allegations.

All five suspects remain innocent unless proven guilty by a court of law.
