MP Betty Maina Makes Special Request To Baby Top Over Late Betty Bayo’s Daughter Sky

MP Betty Maina has appealed to Muthoni, popularly known as Baby Top, to spend time with Sky, the daughter of late gospel singer Betty Bayo, as she called on Kenyans to show compassion to the young girl.Speaking on Tuesday morning, October 27, Maina said children who lose a parent need understanding, emotional support and a safe environment as they navigate life after the loss.

The lawmaker revealed that she had quietly visited and supported Betty Bayo’s children, expressing concern over the criticism directed at Sky on social media.

Maina questioned why the young girl was being subjected to harsh public judgement at a time when she was dealing with the death of her mother.

She also challenged the adults responsible for the children’s welfare, including their maternal grandmother and biological father, to prioritise their protection instead of allowing family matters to become subjects of online debate.

According to Maina, children should not be blamed for circumstances beyond their control, particularly the loss of a parent.

In her appeal, she invited Baby Top to take Sky out for lunch, noting that the two could spend time together as friends of the late singer.

The suggestion came as part of a broader call for people who knew Betty Bayo to extend kindness and support to her children during a difficult period.

Maina further urged social media users to be mindful of the impact their comments could have on the young girl, asking Kenyans to offer prayer rather than criticismHer remarks comes hours after Sky Victor, the teenage daughter of the late gospel singer Betty Bayo, broke down in tears during a Facebook Live session as she opened up about life following her mother’s death.
