Mbalula shares his reasons for defending MySol due to disagreement between MySol and Julius Malema
Mbalula shares his reasons for defending MySol following a public disagreement between businessman Solomon “MySol” Soka Madibela and Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema.
‎‎African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has come to the defence of the businessman, describing him as a solid South African entrepreneur while calling for an amicable resolution to the ongoing dispute between the two men.
‎‎Mbalula shared his views on social media platform X, where he indicated his intention to contact Malema to better understand the circumstances surrounding the disagreement. The ANC leader emphasised the importance of dialogue and resolving the matter peacefully rather than allowing tensions to escalate.
‎“MySol is a solid SA entrepreneur. Whatever the fight is about, I will reach out to Julius to understand. Let’s settle this amicably,” Mbalula wrote.
‎‎His intervention comes after Malema launched a verbal attack on Madibela during an EFF rally held at Letlhabile Stadium in Madibeng, North West, on Saturday, 24 October.
‎‎During his address, the EFF leader referred to the businessman as a “small boy” while raising concerns about the distribution of South Africa’s mineral wealth. Malema argued that the country’s natural resources should benefit ordinary citizens rather than remain concentrated in the hands of a privileged few.
‎Malema also criticised what he portrayed as the growing influence of wealthy individuals in the mining sector. He warned against the alleged use of financial power and influence to control mining opportunities and intimidate local communities.
‎The remarks attracted attention and prompted a response from Madibela, who took to his WhatsApp status to react to the EFF leader’s comments.
‎Through a series of messages, MySol challenged Malema’s remarks and highlighted the importance of hard work, apparently pushing back against the criticism directed at him during the rally.
‎The exchange has since drawn public attention, with Mbalula’s comments introducing another prominent political figure into the unfolding disagreement.
‎By describing Madibela as a solid entrepreneur, the ANC Secretary-General has expressed support for the businessman while making it clear that he intends to hear Malema’s side of the story before seeking a resolution.
‎However, it remains unclear when Mbalula plans to contact the EFF leader or whether the proposed engagement will result in an agreement between the two men.
‎For now, Mbalula appears to be advocating dialogue as a way of addressing the dispute, as the public awaits further developments surrounding the disagreement between Malema and MySol.
