Lawyer Kwesi Kwarteng Declines NPP Deputy National Communications Director Role

Kwesi Kwarteng Esq., a member of the New Patriotic Party’s communications team, has revealed that he was contacted by the party’s leadership regarding the position of Deputy National Communications Director, but he respectfully declined the offer.

In a statement, Kwarteng explained that although the party approached him about the role, he believes he can serve the NPP better in other areas. His decision to turn down the appointment suggests a personal assessment of where his skills and contributions would be most valuable to the party.

Kwarteng, a lawyer and active member of the party’s communications apparatus, did not specify which other areas he intends to focus on. However, his remarks indicate that he remains committed to serving the party and contributing to its objectives, even if not in the specific capacity that was proposed.

The disclosure comes amid recent developments within the NPP’s communications team, including the appointment of Lawyer Kwesi Botchway Jnr as Deputy National Communications Director. Kwarteng’s decision to decline the role suggests that the position was offered to more than one individual before being filled.

His statement reflects a willingness to put the party’s interests first and to choose a path where he feels his strengths can be best utilised. By publicly explaining his decision, Kwarteng appears to be setting the record straight and avoiding any speculation about why he was not appointed.

The NPP has been reorganising its communications structure as it positions itself for future political engagements. Kwarteng’s continued involvement as a member of the communications team indicates that he remains part of the party’s broader efforts, albeit in a different capacity than the one initially discussed.

His decision has drawn some attention, as it highlights the internal consultations that take place within parties when filling key roles.
