Kenyan Woman in UK Opens Up About Struggles After Selling Only 3 Pieces of Gymwear
Mercy Wambua, a Kenyan woman living in Essex, England, has shared an honest account of how hard it has been to build something for herself abroad.
Her first attempt was a gymwear business. It did not go as she had hoped. Out of her entire stock, she sold just three pieces, and one of those buyers was a close friend.
After the time, energy and hope she had poured into it, the numbers left her wondering whether she was headed anywhere at all.
She did not stop there. Mercy turned to content creation, believing that steady posting could help her find an audience and open new doors. She says she has been showing up every single day, making reel after reel and trying out different ideas.
“I have been pushing myself so hard,” she explained, adding that she was doing anything that made sense to her because it was the only thing she knew how to do.
Still, the breakthrough has not come. Mercy admitted that the repeated letdowns have taken a toll on her emotionally and that she is struggling to cope. In her frustration, she asked the universe for a sign, wanting to know what she might be doing wrong and whether she should keep going down the same road.
She also reflected on the risks she has already taken. She says she has tried, and she is willing to keep putting herself out there, but the results have not matched the effort she has given.
Her story offers a look at the less glamorous side of chasing financial independence in a foreign country, where big dreams can run into hard realities.
For now, Mercy’s next steps remain unclear, but her openness has struck a chord with many who know how heavy repeated disappointment can feel.
