Kenya Power Announces Planned Electricity Outage in Parts of Gigiri on Wednesday

Kenya Power has announced a planned electricity interruption in parts of Gigiri, Nairobi, on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, as the utility company carries out scheduled maintenance.In a notice released on Tuesday evening, the company informed customers in the affected areas to prepare for the temporary power outage, which is expected to last eight hours.

According to the announcement, the interruption will begin at 9:00 am and continue until 5:00 pm, affecting selected locations within the Gigiri area.

Among the places listed in the notice are the Canadian Embassy, Rwanda Embassy, Kenya Technical Trainers College (KTTC) campus and Rubis petrol station at the United Nations junction.

Customers living and operating businesses in the surrounding areas have also been advised to take note of the scheduled maintenance, as electricity supply will be unavailable during the stated period.

The planned interruption may affect normal activities at homes, offices, institutions and businesses that depend on a consistent power supply.
