‘I Will Forever Miss You’ — Toluwanisings’ Wife Fights Back Tears at Memorial

According to a report by Vanguard on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Akanbi Elizabeth, the widow of late gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, struggled to hold back tears while paying tribute to her husband at a memorial event in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Elizabeth became emotional during her speech at the tribute night held at Jogor Centre on Tuesday, finding it difficult to continue as she reflected on the loss of her husband.

Addressing the deceased singer, she expressed her grief and appealed to him to remain mindful of their children despite his death.

“Toluwanisings, my dear husband. I will forever miss you. Please do not forget your children and I,” she said.

The memorial attracted several gospel musicians who gathered to honour the late singer. Among those present were Adeyinka Alaseyori, Esther Igbekele, Laolu Gbenjo, Akintayo Akinwande, SB Live, Bidemi Olaoba, Mr Gbera, Peterson Okopi and Sarah Apekeola.

Nollywood actress Bimbo Oshin also attended the event to pay her respects to the deceased.

Toluwanisings died in Ibadan on October 14, 2026, after reportedly collapsing. His death sparked public concern following allegations that attempts to obtain emergency medical treatment for him were unsuccessful.

His personal assistant, Babadunni Gbolabo, had alleged that efforts to secure medical assistance took them to between seven and eight hospitals in the city. The claims raised questions about access to emergency healthcare and the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.

Disagreements have also emerged between Elizabeth and members of the singer’s paternal family over his burial arrangements. His grandmother, Sabitiyu Olayemi, further stirred controversy by alleging that the singer had neglected her for years.
