Evacuee from South Africa thanks Mahama govt
According to a report by Ghanaweb on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Women who returned from South Africa under the government’s evacuation exercise are not short of things to say, and one of them has now put her own experience on record in a candid media interview.
Speaking at a press engagement the evacuees organised to answer questions hanging over the exercise, the unnamed woman said life in South Africa left her and many other Ghanaian women lonely and without intimate relationships for a long time. In her words, they were “starving for sex.”
She blamed Ghanaian men living in the country. In her telling, they showed no interest in women from home and went after South African women instead, who she said are easygoing and rarely refuse when a man makes an advance.
She said Ghanaian women are different. They expect to be pampered, she explained, and a man has to put in real effort to win them over. That expectation, she suggested, often ended things before they started.
Money was another point of comparison. She claimed South African men are unwilling to spend on women, while a Ghanaian man will gladly give a woman money.
Another woman, who stayed off camera, voiced her agreement with these claims.
Since arriving back in Ghana, the interviewee said, she has been enjoying her intimate life. She credited that to the government, which she thanked for flying her and others home. She said the authorities had done well to bring them back.
The report does not give her name, or say when and where the engagement took place. Her statements are her personal claims and were not independently verified.
