The new structure introduces four DStv tiers: Starter, Select, Sports and Premium, and four GOtv tiers: Easy, Starter, Select and Sports.

With subscriptions starting at just N6,000, the company is positioning the revised offering as an affordable option for Nigerian viewers.

“Our offering must evolve. We are simplifying the structure to make it easier for customers to choose what works for them,” said Kemi Omotosho, chief executive of MultiChoice Nigeria.

The changes are designed to simplify package selection, and make it easier to stream.

Sports cost 21,000, starter 6000, select 11000, premium 44,500.

The Nigerian overhaul follows a similar restructuring in South Africa, although the local line-up does not include a separate Movies & Series tier.

The changes come as pay-TV operators face affordability pressures and growing competition from on-demand platforms.
