Businesswoman Set To Lose Her Luxury Properties Of Millions Of Rand After Court Ruling, See Details

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has secured court approval to sell five luxury properties in Sandown Johannesburg, linked to businesswoman Shauwn Mam’Khize” Mkhize as a major tax debt dispute reportedly amounting to R125.9 million continues.

The properties valued at approximately R35 million, could now be sold under the court-approved process with the proceeds to be held in trust while the dispute unfolds.

The development marks a significant step in SARS efforts to pursue the outstanding tax liability and protect the potential recovery of funds while legal proceedings continue.

The Sandown properties are linked to Mkhize, a prominent businesswoman and public figure whose financial affairs have attracted public attention.

The arrangement requiring the sale proceeds to be held in trust is a key element of the development. It means the money generated from the properties will be preserved pending the relevant legal processes, rather than immediately being treated as a final settlement of the alleged tax debt.

SARS has a mandate to administer South Africa tax system and pursue outstanding tax obligations through lawful procedures. Court-approved measures can form part of efforts to secure assets where disputes over tax liabilities remain unresolved.

For Mkhize the proceedings place renewed attention on the dispute and the assets linked to it. The outcome will depend on the applicable court orders, the status of the tax proceedings and any further legal steps taken by the parties.

The sale of the properties should not automatically be interpreted as confirmation that the entire disputed amount has been recovered or that all aspects of the case have been concluded.
