We need to find out the true cause of his death – Uncle of late gospel singer, Toluwanisings, kicks against plans for his burial

An Uncle of late gospel artist Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji aka Toluwanisings, has appealed to the government, Nigerians, religious leaders and traditional rulers to help investigate the circumstances surrounding his sudden demise.

The singer, who was popular for his soul-lifting worship, suddenly slumped and died in Ibadan, Oyo State on October 14.

Speaking during an interview with Dunmininu, the Uncle said the family has agreed that he must not be buried unless the cause of his de@th is ascertained. He stated that the late Singer was born a Muslim and bore the name Sodiq before he encountered Christ and dropped the name for a Christian name.

“We need the help of Nigeria because Sodiq’s de@th is hurting us. We need the help of important people, from the government down to religious leaders and traditionalists, to help us find out the true cause of his de@th. Please help us, we, the family of Olayeni. I am his father’s brother.

Nobody should question if we have sent anyone to investigate. Yes, we are calling on everyone to help investigate because his de@th is painful to us.

For this reason, nobody should plan to bury Sodiq because we are all very hurt, and the entire family has agreed to put his burial on hold until investigation into his de@th is concluded” he said

He stated that the late singer should be laid to rest at his residence in Ibadan, where his wife and children currently reside.

The development comes amid reports of a dispute between the singer’s widow and his father regarding the final burial location. According to reports, while the father insists that the deceased should be buried within a building he was constructing, the widow is maintaining that he should be laid to rest in a cemetery.
