Tinubu, APC Leaders Did Rally In Kaduna, Wike Was In Kuje, Atiku Put Podium In His House, Obi Was On
Lere Olayinka, the media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has criticised opposition leaders Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi by comparing their political engagements with President Bola Tinubu’s campaign activities in Kaduna State.
Olayinka made the comments in a social media post on Saturday, as political activities and preparations for the January 16, 2027, presidential election continue to gather momentum.
He explained that Tinubu and other leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were in Kaduna State to officially launch the president’s campaign. Meanwhile, Wike had organised an interactive town hall meeting in Kuje Area Council of the FCT on Friday.
According to Olayinka, Wike also travelled to Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State on Saturday to meet with stakeholders, including traditional rulers, to discuss issues affecting the area.
However, the media aide contrasted these engagements with the activities of opposition figures, claiming that Atiku was preparing to hold a press conference using a podium placed in front of his residence, while Obi was taking part in a TikTok challenge.
In his post, Olayinka highlighted Tinubu’s campaign launch and Wike’s meetings with residents and stakeholders before making remarks about the opposition leaders.
He wrote that while Tinubu and APC leaders were in Kaduna for the presidential campaign flag-off, Wike had engaged with people in Kuje and later visited Bonny to meet with community stakeholders and traditional authorities.
Olayinka then alleged that Atiku was arranging a podium outside his house for a press conference, whereas Obi was participating in a TikTok challenge.
The Wike aide concluded his post by warning political parties and their supporters against complaining about electoral manipulation after the January 16, 2027, election.
He wrote, “Make nobody sha cry rigging on January 16, 2027,” before ending the statement with an expression of dismissal.
Olayinka’s comments highlight the political rivalry among supporters of the ruling APC and opposition parties as preparations for the 2027 general elections continue. Political figures and their supporters have increasingly relied on campaign rallies, stakeholder consultations, public appearances and social media activities to promote their candidates and criticise their opponents.
However, his post did not provide additional information about the reported preparations for Atiku’s press conference or identify the specific TikTok challenge in which Obi was allegedly participating.
