South Africans Donate R180,000 to Support Pinetown Father Following Hijacking Ordeal

After a terrifying encounter with suspected hijackers outside his home in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, 53-year-old Sidney Hill has received R180,000 in support from South Africans.

A group of armed men allegedly blocked Hill’s Toyota Hilux and started shooting as he was leaving his driveway with his small daughter. During the altercation, he fired back, killing one of the alleged hijackers.

After the traumatic event, a BackaBuddy fundraising drive was started to help Hill with his legal bills and to give his kids psychological counselling.

According to reports, the campaign has raised R180,000, demonstrating the support of South Africans who have come together to help Hill and his family during this trying time.

The money is meant to assist the family in navigating the court system and obtaining emotional support while they heal from the experience.

The public continues to pay attention to the fundraising effort and contribute to the family’s necessities.
