MySol Shows Off Stacks of Leftover Hennessy After Son’s Second Birthday Party
South African mining boss Solomon “MySol” Madibela has once again got people talking. This time, he shared a video of the alcohol that was left over after his son’s second birthday celebration in Sandton on Saturday.
The clip shows rows of Hennessy cognac cases and other premium bottles still stacked high after the party. MySol laughs and points them out, with his name flashing across the screen. The video quickly spread, with thousands of views and mixed comments from people across the country.
For many, this is just another typical MySol moment. The North West businessman is well known for his flashy lifestyle. He owns a fleet of luxury cars, including a custom Brabus Rolls-Royce, and earlier this year he reportedly bought a high-end mansion in Cape Town worth hundreds of millions of rand. Big parties and big spending have become part of his public image.
Behind the luxury is a self-made story. After matric, MySol could not go to university. He started at the bottom in the mining industry, working as a diesel checker and doing records on site. For about 15 years he learned every part of the business, from plastering to explosive engineering, while studying on the side. He later started MySol Holdings and Logistics, which now runs chrome operations and employs thousands of people in the North West.
The birthday party itself was described as lavish. Guests filled a luxury venue, there was music, food and plenty to drink. MySol has said in the past that he enjoys the finer things simply “because I can.” He has also spoken about building wealth so his children can one day live off interest from the bank and never struggle the way he once did.
Not everyone was impressed. Some people online asked why a two-year-old’s party needed so much alcohol, or why the leftovers had to be shown off. Others praised him for coming from nothing and celebrating with his family. A few said he does not need to prove anything to anyone.
Love it or question it, the video has put MySol back in the spotlight. For a man who started by putting diesel in trucks and now hosts parties that leave cases of Hennessy behind, the display fits the life he has built for himself.
