Mamelodi Sundowns and USM Alger Set for CAF Super Cup Final in Pretoria on 8 November

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed a referee for the upcoming CAF Super Cup final between Mamelodi Sundowns and USM Alger, scheduled to take place at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on Sunday, 8 November.

The announcement marks another important step in preparations for the continental showdown, which will bring together two clubs competing for African football honours. Sundowns will have the advantage of playing on home soil, while USM Alger will travel to South Africa hoping to deliver a strong performance and claim the trophy.

The referee’s appointment is an important part of CAF’s preparations for the match, ensuring that the final will be overseen by an official selected by the continental governing body. The referee and match officials will be responsible for enforcing the laws of the game during the high-profile encounter.

Mamelodi Sundowns will be eager to make the most of their home advantage and give their supporters a memorable occasion. The Pretoria-based side have established themselves as one of South Africa’s prominent clubs and will approach the final with the ambition of adding another continental trophy to their collection.

USM Alger, meanwhile, will aim to spoil the hosts’ plans and demonstrate their own quality on the African stage. The Algerian club will need to prepare carefully for the challenge, particularly with the match taking place away from home.

With the Super Cup final approaching, attention will increasingly turn to team preparations, the match officials and the tactical decisions that could determine the outcome.

The appointment of the referee adds to the build-up for a fixture expected to attract considerable interest from supporters of both clubs and African football fans more broadly.
