‘I’m Not a Drug Addict’ — Blessing CEO Breaks Silence After Release From Prison

According to a report by The Cable on Monday, October 26, 2026, Nigerian social media influencer Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has denied allegations that she is addicted to drugs, insisting that she neither smokes nor drinks alcohol.

The relationship expert made the clarification during a recent video call with Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, who shared footage of their conversation on Instagram.

During the discussion, Ogala told Blessing CEO that allegations concerning her supposed drug use had circulated on social media while she was in detention.

According to the actress, some social media users had suggested that the influencer needed rehabilitation and should not be given money.

Responding to the claims, Blessing CEO dismissed the allegations, saying they did not reflect her lifestyle.

“Yes, mama, I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, and I don’t even party,” she said.

She added that social media users often spread claims about people for entertainment, suggesting that the allegations against her were part of the online speculation surrounding her personal life.

The video has drawn attention to the influencer as she continues to face public scrutiny over controversies involving her personal affairs and ongoing legal proceedings.

Blessing CEO was arrested earlier in 2026 and arraigned by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on June 9, 2026.

She was charged with two counts bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing in connection with an alleged transaction involving N69.15 million.

According to the allegations presented in court, Blessing CEO collected the money from Onuoha Okeigwe, a prosecution witness, for a five-year lease of a property she allegedly misrepresented as belonging to her.

The prosecution is expected to establish its case through evidence and witness testimony as the proceedings continue.

Blessing CEO pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to her.

The case was adjourned until October 26, 2026, for the continuation of the trial.

The allegations remain subject to judicial determination, and her plea means the charges have not been established as proven facts.

The influencer has also faced public criticism over a fundraising campaign she launched after announcing that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

In January 2026, Blessing CEO disclosed the purported diagnosis and appealed to members of the public for financial assistance to undergo surgery.

The fundraising effort subsequently generated controversy after businessman Alafaa Kariboye-Igbo claimed that he had transferred N20 million to her and demanded a refund.

The dispute prompted questions and criticism on social media regarding the donations and the circumstances surrounding the fundraising appeal.

Blessing CEO later described the controversy as a “miscommunication” and said she had received N13 million in donations.
