El-Rufai Kisses Wife In Court As Wiretapping Trial Commences
There was a mild drama at the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday as former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai arrived for his wiretapping trial.
The former governor kissed his wife before entering the courtroom.
El-Rufai was seen embracing and kissing his wife, drawing attention from lawyers and supporters at the court premises.
The video of the kiss has gone viral on social media on Monday afternoon.
Embattled El-Rufai is facing trial for allegedly intercepting the phone calls of the National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu.
The court adjourned the case to November 25, 2026, for El-Rufai to open his defence, after dismissing his no-case submission.
Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, in a ruling on Monday, held that the Department of State Services, DSS, has provided enough evidence to require the ex-governor to enter his defence.
The judge, therefore, ordered El-Rufai, the sole defendant in the charge, to defend himself in the criminal proceedings.
