Babu Owino Fires Back at Sakaja: “Let’s Meet in Court, I Will Not Apologise”

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has stood his ground in his ongoing dispute with Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, declaring that he is ready to face him in court rather than apologise.

Babu made his position clear in a strong statement directed at the governor, insisting that he would not apologise to a man he accused of destroying the lives of Nairobi residents.

“Let’s meet in court, Sakaja. I will not apologise to a man who has destroyed the lives of Nairobians,” Babu stated.

His remarks signal an escalation in the disagreement between the two leaders, who have recently been involved in a public exchange over issues affecting Nairobi.

The MP’s response suggests that he is prepared to defend his position through legal channels instead of backing down from the confrontation. By directly challenging Sakaja to meet him in court, Babu has made it clear that he is unwilling to withdraw his criticism or offer an apology.

The dispute has attracted attention because both politicians hold influential positions in Nairobi, where questions surrounding leadership, accountability and the welfare of residents remain important political issues.

Babu’s remarks also place the focus on the growing tension between elected leaders in the capital. While the governor heads the county government, the Embakasi East legislator has continued to speak out on matters he believes affect the people he represents.

However, the outcome of the disagreement may depend on whether either side takes further legal action and what issues are eventually presented before the court.

For now, Babu’s position remains firm: he is ready to face Sakaja in court and has no intention of apologising.

The latest development adds another chapter to the public disagreement between the two leaders, with further developments likely to determine how the dispute unfolds.
