Sarkodie Thrills Over 80,000 Fans at Rapperholic 2026 in Kumasi

byEbenezer MaduguOctober 25, 20260 Screenshot Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has thrilled thousands of music fans at the 2026 edition of Rapperholic, delivering a night of electrifying performances, cultural tributes and memorable moments at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The event attracted more than 80,000 fans from across the country, particularly Kumasi and Tema, who gathered to celebrate Ghanaian music and support the award-winning rapper.

Several artistes, including Kwaku Smoke, Sister Afia, Wendy Shay, Oseikrom Sikani, Dhope Nation, King Promise, Lasmid, Kwadwo Black and OliveTheBoy, entertained patrons with spectacular performances.

Sarkodie’s entrance was one of the night’s major highlights, blending Ghanaian tradition with hip-hop culture. A projection of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II appeared on the backdrop as traditional music, known as Nwom Kron, played before the rapper took to the stage.

He subsequently delivered a series of rap performances, alternating between live-band arrangements and backing from DJ Mensa.

Two fans reportedly collapsed during his entrance, but personnel of the Ghana Prisons Service responded swiftly and attended to them.

Sarkodie also paid tribute to the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, dedicating a segment of his performance to the musician and playing several of his songs.

Speaking to Atinka TV’s Ebenezer Madugu in an interview, some fans commended Sarkodie for honouring the late musician. They pledged their continued support for the rapper and urged him to remain connected to his roots.

Sarkodie brought the show to a close at about 6:30 a.m., although some fans expressed their desire for the performance to continue.

Before leaving the stage, he knelt to thank Kumasi and his fans for the massive turnout and support, bringing the successful edition of Rapperholic to an emotional end.
