Malik Basintale CEO of YEA Hosts His Mentor Dr. Callistus at His Farm

Malik Basintale, Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), hosted his mentor, Dr. Callistus Mahama, Executive Secretary to the President, at his farm in Fuu over the weekend. Dr. Mahama traveled all the way from the capital, Accra, for the visit.

Mr. Basintale announced the visit on his official Facebook page on October 25, 2026, opening his post with the words “What a weekend!” He said he was honored to host the man he described as his “boss, mentor and godfather,” and praised him as a “humble, brilliant and lovely soul to be proud of.”

In the post, the YEA CEO expressed deep gratitude for the visit. “God bless you Boss. This means alot to me,” he wrote, adding that “the people of Fuu are grateful.” The remark suggests the visit carries significance for his home community, where residents see the presence of a senior government official as a mark of recognition and encouragement.

The visit is notable given Mr. Basintale’s role at the helm of YEA, an agency mandated to create employment opportunities for young people. His farm reflects the agribusiness potential that youth employment programs often seek to promote, as a source of jobs, food security and rural development. Agriculture remains one of the sectors with the greatest capacity to absorb young people, and leaders who invest personally in the field send a strong message to the youth they serve.

The gesture also highlights the personal and professional bonds that often underpin public service in Ghana. Mentorship, loyalty and mutual respect continue to shape relationships among leaders, and Mr. Basintale’s tribute to Dr. Mahama reflects these values.

For Mr. Basintale, the weekend was clearly a proud moment, both as a host and as a protégé welcoming the mentor who has shaped his journey. His heartfelt tribute has drawn attention online and reflects the deep appreciation that defines their relationship.
