Just 2 Years Ago,What would Have Been The Reaction Of Those Who Lectured Us Morality In Politics—PK
According to a Post on PK Sarpong official facebook account on Sunday, October 25,2026,Ghanaian social commentator P.K. Sarpong has criticised what he describes as selective condemnation of alleged vote buying and violence during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency executives’ elections.
In a Facebook post titled “Whispers from the Corridors of the Thinking Place,” Sarpong claimed that the party’s internal elections had been marred by incidents of chaos and violence, citing videos and photographs circulating on social media.
According to him, some of the footage allegedly showed delegates receiving money and items, including electric fans, pressing irons, mobile phones and television sets, in what he described as attempts to influence their votes.
Sarpong questioned how political commentators and individuals who frequently advocate good governance would have reacted if similar incidents had occurred under the administration of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He argued that critics who previously condemned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over allegations of corruption would have been more vocal if the reported incidents had taken place during the previous administration.
The commentator further accused some self-described advocates of accountability and ethical leadership of remaining silent over the allegations surrounding the NDC’s internal elections.
According to Sarpong, the perceived silence reflects what he considers a pattern of partisan bias among individuals who present themselves as politically neutral.
He maintained that the response to alleged wrongdoing should not depend on which political party is involved, insisting that concerns about corruption and electoral misconduct should be addressed consistently.
Sarpong also questioned the neutrality of some political commentators, alleging that their public positions were influenced by their interests and relationships with the party in power.
