Fernando Da Cruz Calls on Kaizer Chiefs Fans to Support Team After CAF Exit

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz has appealed to the club’s supporters to stand behind the team following their disappointing elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup.

Speaking after Amakhosi’s exit from the continental competition, Da Cruz stressed the importance of fan support during challenging periods, saying these are the moments when the players need their supporters most.

The Chiefs coach acknowledged the disappointment surrounding the team’s failure to progress, with expectations high among supporters following the club’s return to continental football.

Da Cruz’s message comes at a difficult time for the Soweto giants, who had hoped to advance further in the competition. Their elimination has increased scrutiny of the team’s performances and raised questions about the technical team’s plans for the remainder of the campaign.

Despite the setback, the coach’s appeal suggests that maintaining unity between the players and supporters remains a priority as the club looks to recover from the disappointment.

Chiefs will now need to redirect their attention towards their domestic commitments and work on improving their performances in upcoming matches.

The club’s supporters will be hoping the team can respond positively, address its shortcomings and produce more consistent results.

Da Cruz’s comments were reported by SABC Sport’s Lonwabo Miso, highlighting the coach’s call for continued backing as the team navigates a challenging period.

For Chiefs, rebuilding confidence and delivering improved performances will be important in restoring supporters’ optimism after the continental disappointment.
